BCW Cycling serves both recreational and competitive cyclists in and around the city of Saskatoon. This club is operated and sponsored by Bruce's Cycle Works, and is a member of the Saskatchewan Cycling Association.

Our club organizes events, training, and rides to supplement the many activities already available to Saskatoon cyclists through the various clubs in town.

FOG&G Tuesday and Friday Morning Road Rides

We meet at 9:30 AM on Tuesday and Friday at the German Club (160 Cartwright Avenue) for an approximately two hour ride. What does FOG&G stand for? Fast Old Guys & Gals of course!

The goal of this ride is to allow club members to get out and work on intensity or ride for pleasure while in the company of other club members on a set route. Therefore, it's likely that riders will be strung out along the route possibly in groups of 1 - 7 people. The goal is to keep the groups smaller than 8 people as the intensity may be a bit higher, so the risk of injury increases.

The focus of the ride is fitness and/or pleasure. It is suitable for anyone, of any speed, on any style of bike. It is a timed ride (1.75 hours) which means riders ride out and back at a pace they find comfortable and finish at approximately the same time. Speeds will vary greatly, so if you are not sure you will be able to ride as fast as some of the riders, bring a friend to ride with. Some riders prefer to ride solo which is totally acceptable. After the ride we go to a coffee shop so plan to stick around and visit.

The following rules exist for your safety and enjoyment:

  • you must be a 2017 registered BCW member.
  • must have a bike in good working order, no aerobars are allowed.
  • must have a helmet and wear it.
  • No overlapping of wheels.
  • Do not cross the white shoulder line unless you intend on turning left.
  • Take care of each other. Welcome new riders and have a great time!
